EasyVideo vs. VEED, the best VEED alternative for training videos

VEED is a capable browser video editor with a deep AI toolkit. Its own training page ends at exporting the file or sharing a link. EasyVideo from Easygenerator builds the video inside a course, with the questions and the tracking.

One note on transparency. EasyVideo is Easygenerator’s own product, so this is a comparison from the team behind it. Every detail about VEED comes from VEED’s own product pages, tool pages, help center, and training page, along with user reviews on G2. We accessed all of them on August 28 2026.

Key takeaways

  • VEED is built for creators and marketers, not for L&D. Its own G2 description leads with creators and marketers, and G2 lists it under video editing, screen capture, and AI marketing agents. No e-learning or authoring category appears on its profile.
  • VEED documents no SCORM, xAPI, or completion tracking. Its training page describes a three-step workflow of upload, edit, and download, and it ends when you export the video or share a link.
  • Easygenerator includes the training features in every plan. Quizzes, dynamic SCORM, and xAPI come with EasyVideo at no extra cost.
  • VEED’s editor and AI toolkit are broader than ours. Subtitles across 125+ languages, eye contact correction, voice cloning, background removal, and a public API.

Quick summary

EasyVideo from Easygenerator creates AI training videos inside an e-learning authoring tool, so the video ships as one part of a tracked course. VEED is a browser-based video editor with AI tools layered on. Choose Easygenerator when the course is the deliverable. Choose VEED when the video is.

Video is a format employees actively want. In a 2024 TechSmith survey, 83% of people said they prefer to learn from video over text or audio. VEED gives you a fast editor and a wide set of AI tools. Easygenerator gives L&D teams and subject-matter experts a way to turn what they already know into training that learners can be tracked through, in more than 75 languages. Easygenerator holds 4.7 out of 5 from 175 reviews on G2.

How we compared these two tools in 2026

We used four criteria, and we applied all four to both tools.

  • What the finished output is, so a video file, a shared link, or a tracked course.
  • Whether learner progress can be measured, and how.
  • How much video experience an author needs to produce something usable.
  • How wide the language coverage runs, and what travels with a translation.

Our sources for VEED were its tool pages, its video training platform page, its help center, and its G2 profile, all accessed August 28 2026. We read the G2 pros and cons summary across all 2,175 VEED reviews and the individual reviews attached to each sentiment theme. G2 labels some VEED reviews as incentivized through its invite program, and we have not quoted from those.

What VEED is

VEED is a browser-based video editor with a wide set of AI tools built in. You upload footage or record in the browser, then edit, add subtitles, and export, with no software to install.

Its toolkit covers auto-subtitles, subtitle translation, AI dubbing, AI avatars, talking photo, lip sync, eye contact correction, voice cloning, text to speech, a script generator, text-to-video generation, background removal, audio cleanup, a screen recorder, a webcam recorder, a teleprompter, and slides to video. It also publishes a set of video APIs. VEED reports more than a million creators and holds 4.6 out of 5 from 2,175 reviews on G2 as of August 28 2026.

The key point. VEED sells a video editor with AI tools, and its own positioning puts creators and marketers first.

Easygenerator and VEED separate on what happens after the export

Both tools help you make a training videos, and they differ on what the finished video can do.

VEED’s own video training platform page sets out the workflow in three steps. You upload your footage or record yourself, you edit, then you download. Step three reads that you can host your online courses on VEED, export your video, or share the video link to make it viewable online. That is where the process ends.

Easygenerator is an e-learning authoring tool, and EasyVideo is available as a powerful addition to the suite, so the video sits inside a course alongside your text, your images, your question pages, and your other interactions. You publish the course through dynamic SCORM or xAPI, and your LMS records who completed it.

The key point. VEED hands you a video file or a link. Easygenerator hands you a course your LMS can track.

Key differences between Easygenerator and VEED

Both tools record your screen, both turn slides into video, both generate AI voiceover, and both translate. They differ on whether a course exists around the video and whether anyone can measure what learners did. Every VEED entry below reflects VEED’s published pages as of August 28 2026.

Easygenerator leads on everything that happens around the video and on measurement. VEED leads on editor breadth, on its AI toolkit, and on subtitle coverage.

The key point. VEED wins the video rows. Easygenerator wins every row that involves a learner.

Where each tool wins on the evidence

Easygenerator with EasyVideo

What it does well. Quizzes, dynamic SCORM, and xAPI included in every plan at no extra cost. A course around the video, so your LMS records completion. Translation into more than 75 languages in one step, with on-screen text, subtitles, and narration together. PowerPoint decks turned into video, and since July 2026 directly into the target language. Author seats rather than a metered allocation.

Best for. L&D teams that want video, assessment, and tracking in one course. Subject-matter experts with knowledge to share and no video skills. Global teams that update training often.

VEED

What it does well. A fast browser editor with no install. Auto-subtitles across 125+ languages that reviewers rate highly. Subtitle translation and AI dubbing. AI avatars, talking photo, and lip sync. Voice cloning, eye contact correction, background removal, and audio cleanup. A teleprompter and a screen recorder in the same place. A public API and text-to-video generation.

What reviewers praise. Across 2,175 G2 reviews, ease of use appears in 1,239, the AI toolkit in 832, and caption accuracy in 667. Bill R., a small-business reviewer who rated VEED 5 out of 5 in a review titled “Great Tool for Business Owners!”, singled out having a teleprompter and an easy editor in one tool.

What reviewers raise. Slow performance appears in 280 reviews, limited features in 263, high pricing in 232, AI limitations in 212, and limited customization options in 202. A verified mid-market reviewer, who titled a 4 out of 5 review “Quick Video Editing with Room for Improvement”, described buffering and long upload times on longer content. Bill R. also said the AI talking heads are not good for a personal brand.

Best for. Social and marketing video. Subtitling and captions. Teams that want one browser tool for general video work. Small businesses, which account for 87.6% of its G2 reviews.

The key point. VEED’s reviewers rate its editor and its captions highly, and they name speed, feature depth, and cost as the trade.

Teams look for a VEED alternative when the training has to be measured

VEED makes video quickly. The friction for an L&D team arrives after the export.

The first problem is measurement. VEED’s training page stops at hosting and sharing. A shared link tells you nothing about who finished the video, who answered a question correctly, or who still needs to complete compliance training this quarter. No SCORM export, xAPI support, or completion tracking appears anywhere in VEED’s published material. For a compliance audit that is not a small gap.

The second problem is the questions. A training video without a knowledge check is content rather than training. VEED documents no way to add a quiz, a branch, or a decision point to a video. You would need a separate authoring tool for that, which means a second license, a second tool to learn, and a second place where a version can drift out of date.

The third is who the product is built for. G2 records small business as 87.6% of VEED’s reviews, and lists it under video editing, screen capture, AI marketing agents, and AI avatar generators. No e-learning or authoring category appears. Rebecca V., a small-business reviewer at 4.5 out of 5, asked for more styles and templates for more virality, which describes what most VEED users optimize for.

Louise Puddifoot, an independent L&D consultant, described the wider shift in a December 2025 Easygenerator webinar on L&D trends. She said L&D is changing from being the main builder to being the architect or the curator of learning in the organization. That role needs measurement, and a video file does not provide it.

The key point. Teams leave VEED when someone asks who completed the training and the answer is a view count.

How Easygenerator supports video creation at scale

Easygenerator supports video as one part of a full e-learning authoring tool rather than as a product on its own. You create the course, the assessment, and the video in one flow, and EasyVideo handles the video.

One tool for the whole course, not just the video

A finished video is rarely finished training. You still need structure, questions that check understanding, and a way to deliver the course and track it. EasyAI is the author-first AI that turns a document or an idea into a structured course with clear learning objectives and draft content, and the EasyAI Agent refines the course through conversation. EasyVideo added an AI Script Assistant in June 2026, so an author can generate, refine, and improve a script inside the editing workflow. You add quizzes, fill-in-the-blank questions, and true or false checks directly in the course on any plan.

Build from slides and edit by scene

Most training already exists as slides, so EasyVideo starts there. Upload a deck and it builds a video scene from each slide, then drafts the script from your slide text and speaker notes before it adds an avatar and narration. Since July 2026 you can do that directly in the language you want rather than starting in English. Each video is built from scenes, so an update means you fix one scene and you leave the rest untouched. An August 2026 update added scene-level animation and opacity controls. Our guide on converting PowerPoint to e-learning covers the wider workflow.

Scene-based structure also suits how learners behave. Easygenerator’s 2026 e-learning benchmark report, built on 213,660 courses and 22.9 million learner-course interactions, found that short courses complete far more often than long ones, at 85.5% for courses under five minutes against 70.6% for courses over fifteen. Several short scenes with a knowledge check between them beat one long video.

Translate and publish together

One step translates a video into more than 75 languages, and EasyVideo creates a separate version for each one. On-screen text, subtitles, and narration all travel together, so your Polish, Japanese, Turkish, and Arabic learners receive the same training at the same time. The video then ships as part of the course rather than as a file you hand off, published through manual or dynamic SCORM, xAPI, or a direct link on every plan.

Torgny H., a Navigation Processing Supervisor at an enterprise organization, described the effect in a G2 review on June 18 2026. He called dynamic SCORM brilliant, and explained that because his company runs two different LMS platforms, updates only need to happen in Easygenerator.

The key point. Easygenerator keeps the video, the questions, and the tracking in one course, and an update reaches your LMS without a re-upload.

VEED leads on editor breadth and AI tooling

VEED’s editor is better than ours at making a video look good, and its AI toolkit is wider.

VEED runs a full timeline in the browser with no install. Its auto-subtitles cover more than 125 languages, and its reviewers rate the accuracy highly, with 667 of them naming it. It corrects eye contact, clones voices, removes backgrounds, cleans audio, generates scripts, animates a still photo, dubs audio into other languages, and generates video from text. It also publishes an API, so a developer can produce video programmatically. None of that exists in EasyVideo.

EasyVideo takes a narrower approach. Its scene templates arrive with your branding and with instructional design already applied, so an author starts from a structure that works for training rather than from a blank timeline. Its 155+ avatars and 75+ languages cover what most training programs need.

The key point. If the video is the deliverable and it needs to look good, VEED gives you more to work with. If the deliverable is a tracked course, VEED stops before the part that matters.

Limitations of this comparison, and where EasyVideo falls short

What EasyVideo does not do. EasyVideo is not a general-purpose video editor. It has no full timeline, no text-to-video generation, no eye contact correction, no voice cloning, and no public API. Its avatar realism does not match the specialist avatar platforms. Teams that need social content, marketing video, or a polished external piece will do better with a dedicated editor.

What we did not test or measure. We did not name VEED’s plan tiers, because VEED restructured its pricing page more than once during 2026 and the tier names have changed, so any plan-level claim would go stale quickly. We could not confirm VEED’s AI usage model from VEED’s own pages, so we have left it out rather than rely on third-party pricing trackers. We did not test avatar realism ourselves, and we report it from vendor claims and reviewer comments. We did not measure render speed, although reviewers raise it often enough that we say so above.

How to read the “not documented” rows. We state that VEED documents no SCORM, xAPI, quizzes, or completion tracking. That reflects what appears on VEED’s own pages as of August 28 2026 rather than a claim about what the product may add later. Check VEED’s current documentation before you decide.

VEED is the better choice when the video is the deliverable

Teams that produce social content, marketing video, or captioned clips at speed are buying what VEED built. Its 4.6 out of 5 across 2,175 G2 reviews reflects that, and its own pages name Google, Amazon, Meta, Netflix, BBC, UBS, Procter and Gamble, Merck, and Target among its customers.

Choose Easygenerator and EasyVideo if you want quizzes, dynamic SCORM, and xAPI included in every plan, a course around the video rather than a file, completion data in your LMS, subject-matter experts who make videos without editing skills, and translation into more than 75 languages from one master video.

Choose VEED if you want a fast browser editor, accurate captions across many languages, eye contact correction or voice cloning, a public API, or one tool for social and marketing video alongside internal content.

VEED alternatives to consider

VEED is not the only tool teams weigh up. Two others come up often, and we cover the wider set in our guide to AI avatar video software for training content.

Camtasia

Camtasia is TechSmith’s screen recorder and video editor, and it is stronger than VEED for software walkthroughs. It records at up to 4K and captures cursor paths, clicks, and keystrokes as editable data, and it exports SCORM packages with in-video quizzes from its Essentials plan up. We compare EasyVideo and Camtasia in a separate article.

HeyGen

HeyGen is an AI avatar platform with more than 700 stock avatars, custom digital twins of real people, and 175 languages and dialects. It also offers SCORM export, quizzes, and branching, although those sit on its Business plan. We compare EasyVideo and HeyGen separately, and we also compare EasyVideo with Synthesia and Colossyan.

Final thoughts

VEED is a strong browser video editor, and on captions, AI tooling, and editing breadth it is ahead of EasyVideo. The question for an L&D team is what happens after the export. VEED’s own training page ends at hosting the video or sharing a link, and it documents no SCORM, no xAPI, and no completion tracking. Easygenerator includes quizzes, dynamic SCORM, and xAPI on every plan, and keeps the video, the questions, and the tracking in one course your team can update without a separate production step. For teams that want to create company-tailored training at scale across global offices, that is the difference that matters.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between VEED and EasyVideo?

VEED is a browser-based video editor with AI tools. EasyVideo from Easygenerator is video creation built into an e-learning authoring tool. With VEED you export a video or share a link. With Easygenerator the video, the questions, and the tracking live in one course you publish through SCORM or xAPI.

What is VEED? +

VEED does not document SCORM export anywhere in its published material as of August 28 2026, and its training page describes a workflow that ends when you download the video or share a link. Teams that need SCORM or xAPI tracking would pair VEED with a separate authoring tool, or use a tool that publishes SCORM directly.

Does VEED support SCORM? +

Yes, from the Business plan and above, per HeyGen's plan comparison accessed August 28 2026. HeyGen exports SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 packages with a completion threshold you set, and an auto-update option hosts the video on HeyGen so edits reach your LMS without a re-upload. On the Creator and Pro plans, SCORM export is not available.

Is VEED good for training videos? +

VEED works well for producing a training video. It is a weaker fit for delivering training, because it documents no quizzes, no branching, and no completion tracking. G2 also records small business as 87.6% of its reviews, and lists it under video editing rather than e-learning.

Can Easygenerator replace VEED for training videos? +

Yes, for training videos that live inside courses. You create, translate, and update videos as part of the course, you add the questions in the same place, and you publish through dynamic SCORM and xAPI on any plan. VEED remains the stronger pick for social and marketing video, for captions, or for a full browser timeline editor.
