A PowerPoint to SCORM conversion turns a slide deck into a course package that an LMS can run and track. SCORM, short for Sharable Content Object Reference Model, is the standard most LMSs use to record completion, scores, and time spent.
A deck on its own tells you nothing about your learners. A SCORM course tells you who opened it, how far they got, and whether they passed the quiz at the end.
Most tools also publish to Experience API (xAPI), a newer standard that can track learning outside the LMS. Some add the older Aviation Industry Computer-Based Training Committee (AICC) standard, or cmi5, a standard built on xAPI. Check which standards your LMS supports before you pick a tool.
How we evaluated PowerPoint to SCORM converters
We scored each tool on four criteria. The same four criteria run through the comparison table and the sub-headings inside every entry below.
Slide fidelity. How much of the original deck survives the import, including animations, transitions, and media.
Interactivity after import. Which questions, scenarios, and interactions you can add once the slides are in.
SCORM output and updates. Which standards the tool publishes, and whether course updates reach the LMS without a new upload.
Where the conversion runs. Whether the tool runs in a browser or as a desktop app, and on which operating systems.
How we graded each criterion
Slide fidelity. High means animations, transitions, and media carry over as they are in PowerPoint. Medium means most slide content carries over as editable objects, but some effects or objects do not. Low means the slides become images or get rebuilt in a new layout.
Interactivity after import. High means many question types plus branching or scenarios. Medium means quizzes and basic interactions. Low means few or no interactions.
SCORM output and updates. High means SCORM and xAPI, plus updates that reach the LMS without a new upload. Medium means SCORM and xAPI, with a new package for each update. Low means SCORM only, with a new package for each update.
Where the conversion runs. High means a browser with nothing to install. Medium means a desktop app for both Windows and macOS. Low means a desktop app for Windows, with Mac support only through virtualization software.
Low is not a failing grade. It describes what a tool does, and a Low on one criterion can sit next to a High on another.
Ownership disclosure
Easygenerator is our own product. We reviewed the other four tools independently, from each vendor’s own website and help center and from G2. We checked all vendor claims and G2 figures on October 26, 2026.
What we deliberately did not score
We did not score price. Vendors charge per author, per seat, or by usage, and any figure we printed would go out of date fast. Check each vendor directly.
We left out free single-purpose converters such as ScormHero and SimpliTrain. They wrap a deck in a SCORM package, but they offer little or no way to add questions or update the course afterward.

Start with one question. Is the deck itself the course, or is it the raw material for a course?
Keep the slides as they are
These tools import the deck slide by slide and keep as much of the original design as they can. You add quizzes around the slides and publish a SCORM package.

1. Easygenerator
Easygenerator is a cloud-based e-learning authoring tool that L&D teams and subject-matter experts use to create company-tailored training at scale.
Easygenerator gives you three ways to bring a deck in. You can upload the file and let EasyAI turn it into an editable course. You can add slides as images between quiz sections. Or you can embed the whole deck on a page as a downloadable file.
Slide fidelity
Low. EasyAI rebuilds slide content as course pages, so animations and transitions do not carry over. Slides added as images keep their look, but text on images cannot be translated, edited, or read by screen readers. Our help center explains when to use each option.
Interactivity after import

2. Coassemble
Coassemble is an API-first training platform that lets software teams build, deliver, and embed training, with an AI agent that turns documents and decks into courses.
Coassemble’s AI agent accepts a Word document, PowerPoint, PDF, or SCORM package, then asks a few questions and builds the course. Its “Verbatim” mode keeps the original wording, which suits approved or compliance content.
Slide fidelity
Low. The agent rebuilds the deck as a course made of blocks, so slide layouts and animations do not carry over. Coassemble offers three modes, Verbatim, Structured, and Adaptive, which control how closely the course follows the source.
Interactivity after import
Medium. The agent generates quizzes from the course content and adds screens, knowledge checks, and images on request. Blocks include flashcards, process steps, and accordions.
SCORM output and updates
Low. Coassemble’s pricing page lists SCORM 1.2 and 2004 export. We could not find xAPI export listed on its pricing or feature pages.

3. iSpring Suite
iSpring Suite is an e-learning authoring toolkit that works as an add-in inside Microsoft PowerPoint and publishes decks as SCORM courses.
Install iSpring Suite, and an iSpring tab appears in PowerPoint. You add quizzes, role-plays, and narration to the deck you already have, then publish it as a SCORM package.
Slide fidelity
High. According to iSpring’s PPT to SCORM page, the conversion keeps animations, transitions, audio, video, triggers, and web pages from the original deck.
Interactivity after import
High. iSpring Suite offers 14 question types with branching, time limits, and attempt caps. It adds role-play simulations and text to speech in 52 languages.
SCORM output and updates
Medium. iSpring Suite exports SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, AICC, and xAPI. To change a course, you edit the PowerPoint file and publish again, according to the FAQ on the same iSpring page. iSpring states that it has tested its output with 150+ LMSs.

4. Articulate 360 (Storyline 360)
Articulate 360 is a suite of e-learning authoring apps, and Storyline 360 is its desktop app for slide-based interactive courses.
Storyline 360 imports PowerPoint slides into a scene of your choice. You pick which slides to import, then add interactions on top. Since the March 3, 2026 update, you do not need PowerPoint installed to import a deck, according to Articulate’s import guide.
Slide fidelity
Medium. Articulate’s import tips state that most entrance, exit, and emphasis animations, motion paths, and slide transitions import. Charts, Excel spreadsheets, and other embedded files do not import, and animated GIFs import as static images. Storyline 360 supports PPTX files only.
Interactivity after import
High. Storyline 360 lets authors build interactions with triggers, variables, and layers on any imported slide.
SCORM output and updates
Medium. Storyline 360 publishes cmi5, xAPI, SCORM 2004, SCORM 1.2, and AICC, according to Articulate’s publishing guide. You publish to your computer and upload the output to your LMS. Articulate also offers Reach 360, its own LMS.

5. Adobe Captivate
Adobe Captivate is a desktop e-learning authoring tool for interactive courses, quizzes, and software simulations.
Captivate imports a PPTX file from its home screen and lets you choose which slides to bring in. Each selected slide becomes a Captivate slide with editable objects.
Slide fidelity
Medium. Adobe’s import guide states that the first import creates a non-responsive project. Adobe also notes that you may see a “not all elements” message, and advises a review of each slide against the original.
Interactivity after import
High. Captivate offers quizzes, interactive components, widgets, and software simulation projects.
SCORM output and updates
Medium. Captivate publishes SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, AICC, and xAPI, according to Adobe’s publishing guide. It also publishes straight to Adobe Learning Manager.

When iSpring Suite remains the right choice
iSpring Suite is the stronger tool in this article when the deck itself is the course. It works inside PowerPoint, so the slides stay where the author built them. iSpring states that its conversion keeps animations, transitions, audio, video, and triggers, which Easygenerator does not.
That matters for decks where timing carries the message, such as a process that builds step by step or a diagram that reveals in stages. Rebuild that deck in a block-based course, and the sequence has to be designed again.
The trade-off sits in updates and access. iSpring Suite needs Windows and a desktop version of PowerPoint, and each change means a new package in the LMS. If many authors share the work, or the content changes every quarter, a cloud tool with dynamic SCORM saves more time than the animations are worth.
A converted deck is not yet a good course
Most decks were built for a presenter in the room. Without the presenter, a 60-slide deck becomes a long course, and length has a cost.

The practical step is to split a long deck before you convert it. A 40-slide compliance deck works better as four short sections, each with a short quiz, than as one long module with a test at the end.
Final thoughts
The right converter depends on what the deck is for. If the slides and their animations are the training, iSpring Suite or Storyline 360 keeps them closest to the original. If the slides hold knowledge that needs to become trackable training, a tool that rebuilds them as a course gives you questions, structure, and easier updates.
Start with one of your real decks. Convert it in two tools, publish both to your LMS, and compare what your learners see and what your LMS reports.
